Ever since I saw this picture on Flickr, I've been obsessed with light painting. Unfortunately, my camera (an ultracompact Canon SD450) doesn't allow me to manually control the shutter speed.

Or so I THOUGHT until earlier today. It turns out that by going to manual settings, then into exposure, then pressing MENU, I can actually make exposures up to 15 seconds long! That's good enough for my needs.

I've been able to start experimenting with light painting now, although my roommate doesn't seem happy about being told that he isn't allowed to turn any lights on. Oh well. :3

I don't usually post to this journal. In fact, I had no intention of ever using it, since I already have a blog and oh, a real life wherein I talk to people. Although I suppose it might be nice to talk about my photographic status. However, I'm going to take this opportunity to whine.

I posted a picture just now, and it seemed to work fine. Then I checked my profile, and it ~was not there~. Weird? Yes. So I reloaded. Then looked at my gallery. It was nowhere to be found! I checked it from another computer. Still no photo!

Then I noticed that I got a message. Somebody has commented on my picture! Why can they find it when I cannot? This is no good.
